July 2023 Tarot Forecast
Welcome all to the July tarot forecast for 2023! Below is an energetic reading for the Ahimsa Newsletter group.
Full Moon: July 3rd
New Moon: July 17th
In the modern Julian and Gregorian calendar, July is the 7th month of the year and named after Julius Caesar. Prior to Caesar, this month was called Quintilis, having once been the 5th month of the year. Numerically speaking, this makes July the month of triumphs and struggles. We will be experiencing an arduous journey in areas of struggle, and a sense of flow in areas of accomplishment. Some parts of ourselves will need time to grow, and others will be ready to soar. In regards to Caesar, though he was most notorious for his dictatorship, the Energy of the Month below points to his divine masculine attributes which will rule over the month. In this aspect, he took a populist and egalitarian approach as a ruler. He was also an accomplished author and historian. Given this, we are asked to consider communal wellbeing in addition to our own, and to pursue multiple disciplines that make our hearts sing.
Energy of the Month: King of Pentacles ~Underground by The Underground Youth~
Tool: Grounding, Manifestation Akashic Reading
Through last month’s struggle–the Five of Pentacles–we suffered a crisis and learned to thrive in the darkness and the difficulty. We found there was nothing to fear in the darkness. All we need lies in the subconscious soil of the psyche. We have seen things fall apart and have lived in the darkest spaces. This awakened us, helped us find ways to survive and to radically transform our lives. We pressed our ears to the earth, and heard Our Song.
Our wisdom has reappeared from deep within. It gestated in the darkness and is now shining forth in the manifest world, to create the new. Our strength comes from the underground–a powerful rootedness. Our encounters with the loss of loved ones made us feel as though something had died within us, as though mortality was presenting itself at our own door. This has deeply moved and informed us to pursue a meaningful life while we are here and able. We’ve learned a lot from our ancestors, the earth and death. We are alchemizing this wisdom into aligned action and creating life from it. We find we are resourceful and more than capable of making it.
Love: Judgment ~Start of Something by Voxtrot~
*Inspiration for interpretation of this card: Strange Magic episode
Tool: Speech and the written word, Cosmic Self Akashic Reading
This month, we are experiencing a collective awakening and shift in our approach to love. We are entering a new era in Relationship, in which we can answer the Call to be our authentic true selves. Now is the time to get really clear on who we really are, what our true calling is, and to align ourselves with it. This is the time to articulate our wants and needs to a prospective or current partner. For those of us already in relationships, this is the time to renew an existing love and make adjustments in the relationship. Even small adjustments made in this period have the potential to change the trajectory of our lives. Love is a union of polarities which gives rise to a metamorphosis. We are encouraged to leave a past that no longer serves us, in favor of healing and second chances. In contrast, we are asked to reflect on what within us needs to be resurrected? Is there something we loved about love that has been lying dormant or needs to be expressed? Tying back into the energy of the month, we have gained the wisdom of how we truly want to live. Clearing that which no longer serves us, we can resolve to act differently. We can act out of love and kindness and ask for help when needed. When in doubt, consider what the spirit of love and romance would do?
Money: Reverse 3 of Swords ~All Things End by Hozier~
Inspiration for this interpretation: Tarot of the Holy Light, Between the Worlds episode
Tool: Compassion meditations
In June, we learned heavy practical lessons surrounding money, in terms of scarcity mindset, potential sacrifice, feeling lost and isolated, and disentangling ourselves from fear. This month we are being asked to redefine our relationship with money in a way that sets us free from fear, and come to terms with reality. We’ve become aware of our money wound, which means we might not push against opportunities, project, act out, or try to fill a void. We must also look at the unwanted aspects of a money opportunity–what work will we have to do, or burden will we have to take on?
We are advised that this is not something that can be resolved through the intellect alone. In this space, we want clear cut answers surrounding money that we can resolve readily through a simple yes or no binary, or a “right” way to handle and approach money. This is perhaps because we now have a more realistic understanding of finance that has been tempered by emotional suffering. We feel a burden on our hearts in terms of getting it “right.” We may torment ourselves about not having made all the right choices in investments and expenditures.
To go beyond a limited mental resolution, we must first check in with ourselves. We must ask ourselves the hard questions about our money values, rather than expecting someone else to tell us what those values are. Remember to practice compassion and not perfectionism. Be patient while learning; wisdom cannot be rushed. This is something that is gained through mistakes, suffering, and doing. It’s okay to do our best and begin again.
Work: 8 of Swords ~Ascend and Try Again by Okay Kaya~
Tool: Breathing exercises, Past Lives/Gifts Akashic Readings
In Work, we may feel stuck in a situation that we do not like, due to a psychological block rather than external circumstances. Not only are we struggling in a feedback loop of self doubt and new information we haven’t processed yet, but we feel the pressure to never show pain in this situation. That we must fake it until we make it. If we feel ourselves unable to breathe, it is important to remember we have the ability to step away from our anxiety, take deep breaths, and try again. We are being tested right now in this area of life, but we have multiple opportunities to get this right. Like a repeated mantra, we must remind ourselves that we have the power, wit, grit, and determination to achieve our desired results. Once we overcome this challenge, we emerge with the ability to intuit what we must do per the deeper mysteries and the call of our subconscious psyches.
Health: Reverse Queen of Pentacles ~Black Lagoon by Still Corners~
Inspiration for this interpretation: Between the Worlds episode
Tool: Somatic techniques
The Reverse Queen of Pentacles is showing up in our health to remind us of the notion brought forth by John Donne that “No man is an island.” We are interdependent beings, and the people we surround ourselves with matter. Are the people around us supporting the healthiest versions of ourselves, or are they encouraging disordered behaviors? We want to look at our community and we are able to thrive physically in it. The Queen of Pentacles also advises us not to be overly concerned with what others think of us, with external validation, or how we fit into societal norms. The shadow of this card plays on our insecurities and gets us to go against our better judgments, but we ought to be looking at our actions from all angles and considering the long term consequences. We do not have to prove anything to anyone else in order to gain a sense of belonging.
What matters most is tuning in with ourselves and honoring our body when it speaks to us. Are we feeding ourselves when we are hungry, resting when we are exhausted, moving when we feel excited, or relaxing when our bodies call for it? When we respond to our bodies’ needs, we find a sustainable path to bodily security, abundance, and rootedness. We must work with the body and health that we have rather than what we wish it could be, and go from there. To achieve this, it is recommended to build a routine and a discipline, though not an overly rigid one. Health is a marathon, not a race.
Spirit: Reverse Two of Cups ~Unknown/Nth by Hozier~
Tool: Boveda, Cosmic Self Akashic Reading
This month the Reverse Two of Cups calls attention to the places where we feel disconnected from spirit. Where do we feel immense distance, in contrast to our intense desire for closeness with the divine? What wounds in our attachment styles are we projecting onto Spirit? Where do we feel let down, betrayed, punished, or misunderstood by Spirit? How is that leading us to subconsciously pull back? If we do not reflect on and resolve this, we may be tempted to pull away from Spirit in order to protect ourselves. But as fallible human beings, there are many things about the highest good for our futures that we cannot know. Regardless, the higher realm does not take our withdrawal personally and is always there for us, with tender divine loving goodness. We may feel that if all of us were truly understood, we would not be able to be loved–but we are in fact known and loved. Keep in mind as well that we can only love and connect with Spirit as much as we do with ourselves. So if we want to cultivate a deeper relationship at this level, we must first look at our relationship within. Can we show up for ourselves in earnest each day? Can we listen to what that little voice of intuition tells us on a daily basis? What can we offer ourselves each day and how can we commune with ourselves? This is what we need to feel more in tune and in connection with the divine.
