Our next healing workshop is coming up on Saturday, August 11th at 12 pm central, 1 pm eastern, 11 am mountain and 10 am pacific.

Ahimsa means nonviolence. A Warrior is someone who confronts challenges and survives. An Ahimsa Warrior is one who can do this nonviolently. Dealing with trauma is challenging, and recovering is a battle we face again and again.

This workshop is intended for people who work for peace within themselves, knowing that it ripples outward to create peace in the world. It is designed to teach us how to channel the energy of our past into artwork that heals.

For this Healing Workshop, we’ll be thinking about Survival. We’ll work with the Root Chakra and start by using the colors red, pink, maroon, burgundy, white and black. As always, choose a medium to work with that interests you or feels most comfortable (pencil, paint, clay, etc). Have a journal or paper with you, and something to write with.

Regardless of your artistic ability, when you are working from emotion, each piece will have a message specifically for you.

A suggested donation of $10 can be paid directly to Ahimsa or to the causes on the Ahimsa Giving page. We understand that trying times may not allow you to donate at all workshops and that is okay. Just sign up.

Proceeds from this month’s class will be donated to the Maui Strong Fund. Read more here.
