Meditation for Peace and Healing for the World

In this crucial time, we are called upon to sort through information, misinformation, and disinformation. Disinformation is a tool of political warfare utilized throughout history. There is a temptation to turn away while agents of our own government brutalize law abiding people on the streets of our cities and orders are given to murder others on the open seas.

An alternative to turning away is to bear witness to what is going on while managing our bodies’ natural defense responses. These responses occur when observing others being threatened with harm or imminent death.

I will include strategies for managing these physical, primal fear responses in each text moving forward; here we go-

1) feel your feet coming into contact with the ground beneath you, particularly your big toe, now feel your entire body coming into the compact with whatever surface is supporting you, chair or yoga mat. Feel yourself held by the ground and the surfaces supporting you. Breathe! Notice the changing subtle sensations in your body. Stay with this only as long as you feel comfortable doing so. Repeat this one frequently if you like it.

Let’s meditate deeply from 1 PM to 1:15 PM CST and open to the deep truth held within. This is what Gandhi referred to as “the still small voice” that helped him to free his nation from oppression.
